Veterinary Digital Radiography and Ultrasonography

Digital radiology helps diagnose any possible issues with the cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems of your pet. The procedure does not require invasive treatment and hence is more accessible and less painful for the pets. With the help of Digital Radiography, vets can identify:

• Abnormalities

• Foreign objects

• Helps identify fractures

Abdominal ultrasound noninvasive procedure used to assess the organs and structures within the abdomen. This includes the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile ducts, spleen, and abdominal aorta. Ultrasound technology allows quick visualization of the abdominal organs and structures from outside the body.

Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Other Blood Tests:

Blood tests can give us a wealth of information about the health of your pet. They provide an insight into the health of many organs, help detect disease, and confirm if your pet is safe to undergo anesthesia.

From a blood test, we can work out if your pet is dehydrated, has underlying kidney disease or liver changes, and assess your pet’s red and white blood cells. While blood tests do not always give us definitive answers, they can be critical in sick pets as they will often help us determine the next step and what areas warrant further investigation.

Stool Tests:

Fecals are used to diagnose and treat many infections that could be compromising your pet’s health, like coccidia, giardia, and intestinal worms.

Urine Tests:

It is helpful to document various types of urinary tract diseases and may provide information about other systemic diseases, such as liver failure, hemolysis, UTI, and diabetes.

The Outside Laboratory:

Many of the tests require either specialized equipment or the training of technicians performing the tests. For these reasons, we send the samples to an outside laboratory-like allergy test, rabies serology test, biopsy, and fine needle aspirate.
